Airbus aircraft deliveries to end-August rose 9%
PARIS, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Airbus jet deliveries rose 9% in the first eight months of 2026, keeping the European planemaker broadly on track to meet its annual target, though figures published on Monday showed it still needs to catch up on the A330 following a production disruption.
Airbus said in its monthly bulletin that it delivered 475 jets between January and August, compared with 434 in the same period last year. That total included 57 aircraft handed over in August.
The France-based company's data showed that A330 wide-body deliveries resumed with a single handover in August, after a suspension in June and July caused by the discovery of a lost tool in the tail section of an A330.
Airbus has so far delivered 11 A330s this year, a drop of 31%. Deliveries of the benchmark A320-family narrowbody, however, increased by 11%.
The company is targeting 870 deliveries in 2026, up 10% from the 793 aircraft it delivered last year.
Airbus sold 67 planes in August, including eight A350F freighters to an undisclosed customer. So far this year, the planemaker has sold 1,157 jets, or 1,091 after adjusting for cancellations.
