On Sunday, Sept. 6, an Amazon Prime Air cargo flight overran a runway at Miami International Airport, prompting all runways and taxiways to be closed and a ground stop to be initiated, according to airport authorities.

Prime Air Flight 7598 went off the airport's diagonal runway at roughly 2 p.m. ET (1800 GMT) and became disabled at the northwest end of the facility, officials said.

All runways and taxiways had been shut down by 3 p.m. ET (1900 GMT).

No immediate information was available regarding injuries or fatalities.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it would investigate the incident.
