Netherlands equities closed higher on Monday, with gains across the Technology, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors leading the market upward.

By the close in Amsterdam, the AEX index had added 0.17%.

ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was the session's best performer on the AEX, rising 4.48% or 37.00 points to finish at 862.20. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) gained 2.97% or 5.85 points to close at 202.50, while SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) advanced 2.66% or 0.94 points, ending late trade at 36.26.

Among the worst performers, Magnum Ice Cream NV (AS:MICCT) declined 2.68% or 0.45 points to close at 16.25. Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) fell 2.55% or 26.20 points to settle at 1,000.40, and Prosus (AS:PRX) dropped 1.80% or 0.67 points to end at 36.46.

On the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, decliners outnumbered advancers by 54 to 41, while 11 issues ended unchanged.

Prosus (AS:PRX) shares touched 52-week lows, losing 1.80% or 0.67 to trade at 36.46.

The AEX Volatility index, which measures implied volatility of AEX options, was steady at 21.09, unchanged at 0.00%.

Crude oil for October delivery gained 1.78% or 1.63 to $93.11 per barrel. Brent oil for November delivery rose 1.45% or 1.40 to $97.68 a barrel, while December gold futures decreased 0.36% or 16.24 to $4,460.36 per troy ounce.

EUR/USD was at 1.16, reflecting a 0.11% move, and EUR/GBP was at 0.86, reflecting a 0.05% change.

The US Dollar Index Futures slipped 0.28% to 98.87.
