GE Aerospace to buy castings maker CPP for nearly $12 billion
On Tuesday (September 8), GE Aerospace announced its agreement to acquire Consolidated Precision Products, a manufacturer of castings, from investment firms Warburg Pincus and Berkshire Partners for $11.75 billion. The move is intended to broaden the company's supply-chain capabilities.
Chief Executive Officer Larry Culp underscored the strategic logic, saying, "Investing in mission-critical casting capacity is needed to support the strong simultaneous demand across commercial engines, aftermarket and defense."
The deal, anticipated to close in the second half of 2027, is expected to enhance GE Aerospace's adjusted earnings per share and free cash flow in the first year following completion.
