Greek Equities End Lower as Athens General Composite Slips 0.23%
Greek equities went into the red by Wednesday's close in Athens, as declines in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led the market lower.
The Athens General Composite slipped 0.23% at the closing bell.
Among the session's leading performers on the Athens General Composite, HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA (AT:HEPr) advanced 6.29%, or 1.05 points, closing at 17.73. Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) rose 3.38%, or 2.20 points, to finish at 67.20, while BriQ Properties REIC (AT:BRIQr) added 3.13%, or 0.10 points, to trade at 3.30 near the end of the day.
On the downside, Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr) dropped 4.58%, or 0.62 points, to trade at 12.92 by the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) lost 3.23%, or 0.38 points, settling at 11.38, and Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) fell 2.53%, or 1.00 points, to 38.50.
Declining shares outpaced advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by a margin of 66 to 44, while 23 issues finished unchanged.
HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA (AT:HEPr) reached all-time highs, adding 6.29%, or 1.05 points, to 17.73. Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) also rose to a record peak, climbing 3.38%, or 2.20 points, to 67.20. BriQ Properties REIC (AT:BRIQr) likewise hit an all-time high, picking up 3.13%, or 0.10 points, to 3.30.
Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.57%, or 25.34, to $4,464.34 per troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity markets, October crude oil futures gained 3.43%, or 3.19, to trade at $96.22 a barrel, while the November Brent contract rose 3.32%, or 3.25, to $101.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged, with the pair at 1.16 after a 0.20% move, while EUR/GBP was also unchanged, with the pair at 0.86 after a 0.03% move.
The US Dollar Index Futures slipped 0.12% to 98.66.
