Indonesia Stocks Lower at Close; IDX Composite Index Falls 0.29%
Indonesian equities closed lower on Wednesday, with losses in the financials, agriculture, and basic industry sectors dragging the market downward.
The IDX Composite Index finished the Jakarta trading session down 0.29%.
Among the session's best performers on the IDX Composite Index, Dua Putra Utama Makmur PT (JK:DPUM) surged 34.62%, or 36.00 points, to close at 140.00. Multi Spunindo Jaya Tbk PT (JK:MSJA) advanced 17.74%, or 110.00 points, ending at 730.00, while Ever Shine Textile Industry (JK:ESTI) gained 14.81%, or 24.00 points, to settle at 186.00 in late trade.
The worst performers included Hetzer Medical Indonesia Tbk PT (JK:MEDS), which fell 10.68%, or 11.00 points, to trade at 92.00 at the close. Agro Bahari Nusantara PT Tbk (JK:UDNG) decreased 9.88%, or 80.00 points, finishing at 730.00, and Lima Dua Lima Tiga PT (JK:LUCY) declined 9.62%, or 46.00 points, to 432.00.
On the Jakarta Stock Exchange, falling issues outnumbered advancing ones by 364 to 287, while 180 stocks ended unchanged.
Multi Spunindo Jaya Tbk PT (JK:MSJA) shares reached an all-time high, climbing 17.74%, or 110.00, to 730.00. Meanwhile, Agro Bahari Nusantara PT Tbk (JK:UDNG) shares fell to a 52-week low, dropping 9.88%, or 80.00, to 730.00.
In commodities trading, crude oil for October delivery rose 1.42%, or $1.32, to $94.35 a barrel. Brent oil for November delivery climbed 1.90%, or $1.86, to hit $99.78 a barrel, while December gold futures advanced 0.10%, or $4.65, to trade at $4,443.65 per troy ounce.
The USD/IDR pair was down 0.53% at 17,532.00, while AUD/IDR slipped 0.52% to 12,647.37.
The US Dollar Index Futures declined 0.05% to 98.74.
