Indonesian Shares End Lower as IDX Composite Retreats 0.16%
Indonesian equities closed Monday's session lower, pressured by declines in financial, infrastructure and agricultural sectors that dragged the market down.
Jakarta's IDX Composite Index slipped 0.16% by the closing bell.
Leading gainers on the IDX Composite Index included Hetzer Medical Indonesia Tbk PT (JK:MEDS), which advanced 34.72%, or 25.00 points, to close at 97.00. Haloni Jane PT Tbk (JK:HALO) added 27.54%, or 19.00 points, ending at 88.00, while Soho Global Health Tbk PT (JK:SOHO) rose 24.90%, or 300.00 points, to 1,505.00 in late trading.
Among the session's worst performers, Harapan Duta Pertiwi PT (JK:HOPE) dropped 13.24%, or 36.00 points, to 236.00 at the close. Maming Enam Sembilan Mineral Tbk PT (JK:AKSI) lost 10.49%, or 34.00 points, closing at 290.00, and Asia Sejahtera Mina Tbk (JK:AGAR) fell 9.86%, or 145.00 points, to 1,325.00.
Declining issues outnumbered advancers on the Jakarta Stock Exchange by 350 to 295, while 186 stocks ended unchanged.
October-delivery crude oil slipped 0.47%, or $0.43, to $91.05 per barrel. Elsewhere in commodities, November Brent crude was down 0.03%, or $0.03, at $96.25 a barrel, while December gold futures declined 0.27%, or $12.04, to $4,464.56 per troy ounce.
The USD/IDR exchange rate advanced 0.31% to 17,631.10, while AUD/IDR rose 0.29% to 12,734.24.
US Dollar Index futures were down 0.33%, trading at 98.82.
