Israeli Shares Close Slightly Lower; TA 35 Down 0.06%
Israeli equities ended Wednesday's session in negative territory, with losses concentrated in the real estate, technology, and insurance sectors pulling the broader market down.
By the closing bell in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 index had surrendered 0.06%.
Among the session's standout gainers on the TA 35, Strauss Group (TASE:STRS) climbed 2.74%, or 310.00 points, to settle at 11,620.00. Navitas Petroleum LP Unit (TASE:NVPTp) advanced 2.17%, or 270.00 points, to close at 12,700.00, while OPC Energy Ltd (TASE:OPCE) added 2.12%, or 210.00 points, to end at 10,130.00 in late trading.
On the downside, Ormat Technologies (TASE:ORA) was the largest decliner, dropping 5.82%, or 1,890.00 points, to 30,610.00 at the close. The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE:TASE) fell 2.04%, or 280.00 points, to finish at 13,450.00, and Azrieli Group Ltd (TASE:AZRG) declined 1.83%, or 730.00 points, to 39,260.00.
Market breadth was negative, with falling stocks outnumbering advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 299 to 170, while 90 issues finished unchanged.
In commodities, crude oil for October delivery gained 3.45%, or 3.21, to reach $96.24 a barrel. Brent oil for November delivery rose 3.28%, or 3.21, to hit $101.13 a barrel, while December gold futures advanced 0.57%, or 25.37, to trade at $4,464.37 per troy ounce.
In foreign exchange, USD/ILS was effectively flat, registering a 0.05% move to 3.02, while EUR/ILS rose 0.28% to 3.52.
The US Dollar Index Futures declined 0.15% to reach 98.64.
