Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.21%
Mexican equities ended Monday's session lower, dragged down by declines in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors.
The benchmark S&P/BMV IPC index closed down 0.21%.
Leading gainers on the S&P/BMV IPC included Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB), which climbed 3.96% or 8.33 points to close at 218.45. Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:CHDRAUIB) advanced 2.92% or 2.55 points to finish at 89.73, while Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) rose 1.90% or 6.66 points to 357.90 in late trading.
The session's worst performers were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), down 12.70% or 1.13 points to close at 7.77. Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) fell 3.31% or 0.68 points to end at 19.84, and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) dropped 2.65% or 3.71 points to 136.20.
Decliners outnumbered advancers on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 69 to 55, with 12 issues finishing unchanged.
Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO) shares sank to a 52-week low, falling 12.70% or 1.13 to 7.77.
Gold futures for December delivery slipped 0.55% or $24.60 to $4,452.00 per troy ounce. In other commodities, October crude oil gained 1.33% or $1.22 to $92.70 a barrel, while November Brent rose 1.07% or $1.03 to $97.31 a barrel.
USD/MXN traded up 0.15% at 16.92, and EUR/MXN gained 0.16% to 19.67.
US Dollar Index futures declined 0.26% to 98.89.
