NTSB: Pilot Raised Speed Concerns Before Fatal Miami Cargo Crash
WASHINGTON, Sept 9 (Reuters) – The National Transportation Safety Board said one pilot on the Amazon Prime Air cargo plane that crashed in Miami on Sunday repeatedly commented to the other about excessive speed during the final one minute and 42 seconds of the cockpit voice recording.
The NTSB, in an investigative update released Wednesday, said there was no consistent verbal response to the comments about speed and did not identify which pilot made them.
The board also reported that “Too low, terrain” warnings sounded several times on the Boeing 767 before it landed and ran off the runway, an accident that left five people dead and five injured.
