Russia stocks higher at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index up 0.61%

Russian equities closed higher on Monday, propelled by gains in the Oil & Gas, Mining, and Power sectors, according to Investing.com.

The MOEX Russia Index finished the trading day in Moscow up 0.61%.

The session's top gainers on the MOEX Russia Index included ROSSETI PJSC (MCX:FEES), which advanced 4.47%, or 0.00 points, to finish at 0.05. Rosneft PJSC (MCX:ROSN) added 3.73%, or 12.00 points, to close at 333.95, while AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX:AFKS) gained 2.09%, or 0.16 points, to 7.90 in late trading.

Among the session's worst performers, PhosAgro PJSC (MCX:PHOR) dropped 4.41%, or 257.00 points, to trade at 5,567.00 at the close. PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK) declined 2.25%, or 12.40 points, to end at 539.80, while Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL) slipped 1.31%, or 13.20 points, to 991.00.

On the Moscow Stock Exchange, advancing issues outnumbered decliners by 142 to 99, with 14 stocks closing unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index (RVI), which measures implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 1.93% to 37.10.

December delivery gold futures fell 0.55%, or $24.60, to $4,452.00 per troy ounce. In other commodities trading, crude oil for October delivery rose 1.33%, or $1.22, to $92.70 a barrel, while November Brent oil gained 1.07%, or $1.03, to trade at $97.31 a barrel.

USD/RUB held steady at 85.95, while EUR/RUB was also unchanged at 99.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures slipped 0.26% to 98.89.
