Sept 11 (Reuters) - Russian air strikes on Friday morning wounded two people and started a fire in a nine-storey residential building in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital's authorities said on Telegram. The city had urged people to take shelter during a drone alert.

In a separate development, Ukrainian drones damaged civilian infrastructure in the Russian city of Saratov on the Volga River, regional governor Roman Busargin said on Telegram. He added that there were no casualties.

The Saratov region, which has often been targeted by Ukrainian air strikes, including one earlier this week, hosts a major oil refinery operated by state oil company Rosneft as well as several other industrial and military sites.

Reuters was unable to immediately confirm the reports. Russia and Ukraine deny intentionally targeting civilians.
