Russian equities end lower; MOEX Russia Index drops 1.21%
Russian equities finished lower after Sunday’s close, with losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors pulling shares down.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index fell 1.21%.
The session’s strongest performers on the MOEX Russia Index included Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM), which gained 2.32%, or 0.23 points, to close at 10.30. Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL) added 1.87%, or 18.40 points, to end at 1,000.40, while PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK) edged up 0.02%, or 0.10 points, to 534.50 in late trading.
The weakest performers of the session were OZON (MCX:OZON), which dropped 4.54%, or 120.50 points, to close at 2,531.50. AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX:AFKS) fell 3.91%, or 0.30 points, to end at 7.38, and Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:RTKM) declined 3.47%, or 1.44 points, to 40.11.
On the Moscow Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 0 to 0.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which tracks implied volatility for MOEX Russia Index options, fell 10.76% to 32.10, a new one-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery declined 0.39%, or 17.30, to $4,390.00 a troy ounce. In other commodities, crude oil for October delivery dropped 2.43%, or 2.49, to $99.99 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.94%, or 3.16, to $104.47 a barrel.
USD/RUB rose 0.64% to 84.48, while EUR/RUB gained 0.06% to 97.52.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 98.84.
