Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 0.46%

Taiwan shares finished lower at the close of trading on Tuesday, with losses in the Computers & Peripherals and Electronic Parts/Components sectors weighing on the broader market.

The Taiwan Weighted index ended the session down 0.46%.

WinWay Technology Co Ltd (TW:6515) led the session’s gainers on the Taiwan Weighted, climbing 10.00% or 700.00 points to close at 7,700.00. Anderson Industrial Corp (TW:1528) added 9.92% or 1.90 points to finish at 21.05, while EverFocus Electronics Corp (TW:5484) rose 9.90% or 3.90 points to 43.30 in late trading.

At the other end of the board, ASRock Rack Inc (TW:7711) fell 10.00% or 66.00 points to 594.00 at the close. PELL BIO MED TECHNOLOGY CO LTD (TW:6949) declined 9.99% or 6.70 points to end at 60.40, and King Slide Works Co Ltd (TW:2059) dropped 9.96% or 1,385.00 points to 12,520.00.

Declining issues outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 725 to 295, while 101 stocks closed unchanged.

In commodities, crude oil for October delivery gained 2.35%, or 2.15, to $93.63 a barrel. Brent oil for November delivery rose 1.31%, or 1.27, to $98.27 a barrel, while December gold futures fell 0.28%, or 12.36, to $4,464.24 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD slipped 0.04% to 31.51, while TWD/CNY was little changed at 0.21 after a 0.19% move.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 98.74.
